Lots of nice chats this week with my cousin, family, friends and even a new friend I met 🙂 Really lovely to connect with people again and dear folks close to me to listen, catch up and empathise 🙂
I had lunch with my dear friend V as it is her bday soon and I suggested we try this yummy Japanese restaurant that I was told was very well, yummy hahaha and indeed, Iori was really nice! The lunch bento with chicken karaage and dammmnnn it was super yummy with some extra little marinated cooked eggplant, seaweed salad, cooked potato side dishes. D Definitely would reorder again… did I mention it was yummy? LOL
Also got some deeeelish Indian food from my favourite Indian restaurant here, Garam Masala. They are cooking from home and taking orders by text… I feel like I have a personal chef ❤ ❤ <3. J’s wife, C, brought the food on Wed and it was wonderful to finally meet her and chat!! 😀 She told me a lot about her food, their family history, and about the industry in Toulouse in general and it was super lovely to get to know her more and understand more, as my dad also had his own restaurant which I worked at for many, many years. I think she liked it that I have that same family restaurant background as implicitly, we just get it. She made me something I think was never on the menu in the restaurant which was this super amazing Chicken curry dish from J’s hometown. I had asked her “to just go for it and make some awesome chicken dish” and she delivered! 😀
At the market, I scored on some stupid cheap veggies : 1€ for a massive head of cauliflower and also 1€ for a huge butternut squash!! The cauliflower was looking a bit sad and had just a few black dots but easy to lop off. Same, the butternut squash just had a small bad spot but I could tell it was just the skin or if more, just surface level damage. So, I added both and doubled this recipe I’ve used before with Cookie & Kate for a roasted cauliflower soup and added just a few modifications:
- added the massive butternut squash after I roasted it
- doubled the recipe
- added a chilli pepper (but it wasn’t even spicy at all
)
- chicken broth (cuz that’s all I had)
- definitely more butter… not sure how much more.. but it was MORE lol
And it was great! I ended up with about 3L of soup HAHAHA and it all cost me ~3€ 😀 Woo hoo!
My friend who lives in the same building came over and we co-worked together. It was awesome; Just a few hours in the afternoon but I felt more motivated and productive. I smashed out so many tasks!! 🙂
I also had my weekly massage at Banyan Thai massage and I’m sooo glad I’ve committed to this for my health, spirit and well-being. Such a great way to end the week 😀
Also, I’ve decided to eat cheese and also delicious patisserie everyday. Life is too short!! 😀 So, I’ve got another delicious helping of my favourite chocolate caramel peanut butter crushed peanut base tart from Flower’s Cafe and also, a new cheese from Corse that I found at Sena Fromagerie! Damn the brebis is treated so nicely there to make it still creamy and smelly 😀
Lastly found some gorgeous flowers from Marché Carmes! Gorgeous light blue / violet bush like flowers like a bottlebrush plant from Oz!
