Got up at 8ish and had a call from my friend M. Yay! She was able to ask one of her friend’s that I’ve met, L, to stay at his place for the 1st week in Paris woo hoo! M had been so helpful and always looking out for me. So appreciate it!!
Off to the beach now. I went to the Rossi station and it was packed! Like 100 people in line for the ticket window and then like 50 for each of the 2 lines at the machine, eeps! I asked a staff member which line I should go to and he told me to go to another station LOL It would cost me less to pay from the other station and it was only 15 mins walk away. So, off I went. It was a path up many stairs but beat waiting in line at Rossi station.
At Cais do Sodre station, I waited only about 10mins in line. Much better! The train came every 20 mins and the trip went smoothly and it was only a short 15 walk to Carcavelos beach. I rented an umbrella for 5€. There were some beach chair areas but they were 10€ all day for 1 person; 17€ for 2 people. It’s always a bit cheaper to travel for 2+. But all good.
It’s been so relaxing at the beach. Reading my book a bit, had a snooze, ate some snacks. The wind is still blowing a bit which helps cool things down so it’s been not too hot at all under the umbrella… Excellent conditions. Free wifi on the beach too which is cool!
On the way back, the train ran every 12 mins! So very simple and fast trip too. I tried to pop by the Time Out Market but it was a zoo in there and the traditional market side wasn’t open. So I went back to Pingo Doce for a bit more food and just relaxed with more chamomile tea… I’m addicted 🙂
